A moment on the Lips, Forever on your Hips

I almost did not recognize a friend of mine that I saw six months ago – why? She looked different – in fact, stunning is the right word. She has dropped several sizes. Want to know her secret like I was eager to know? Every other day, she covers a few miles walking, regardless the weather is favorable or not. Her resolution was fantastic – at least the result is a proof; so I decided to go the same way. I kept pace two consecutive days. By the third day, guess what? I ended up curling with my e-book reader, sipping away hot cocoa while engrossed in a book, with my little bundle of fluff curled beside me.

weight loss fastWell, to tell you the truth, this technique has not worked for my waistline. On a daily basis, several alerts from workout professionals pump into my mail box, as a reminder for me to keep on moving every day to help me stay substantially stress-free and feel better.

Come to think of it, I actually move often, otherwise I wouldn’t have been up from the bed, take a shower and prepare breakfast for hubby to get ready for work. Of course, I also move to go to work (home office). Less stress? I wonder what it actually looks like since all my movements have not shown me a glimpse of what less-stress means. Don’t get me wrong, if you sit at a place, you will certainly grow large. However, having been slim and self-absorbed with my weight at one time in my life, I can say that am happier with my present state.

Each morsel of food that goes through my lips takes a stress-less process – admittedly, my upper arms are not close to perfect, but ‘darned happy’ is the right phrase to describe how I feel as I sip my hot cocoa, while engrossed in my book and having my little bundle of fluff by my side. To me, this appears to be what less-stress should look like – if you doubt, capture me with your camera in this position!

My exercise life is best described as normal – just the way average folks would exercise. I do not use the elevator (I prefer to walk up and down the stairs daily), I avoid sitting at a place for twenty minutes at a stretch at home. My diet can be described as healthy – I can simply summarize my life as a marathon, but I enjoy every moment of it because I don’t eliminate enjoyment in the bid just to stay fit.

So, I’ve made up my mind not to let that daily alert arouse the guilt in me any longer. Once the alert beeps telling me I need to do more to feel good, I would ignore it completely and get on with my life – starting each day with a deep, fresh breath and big smile.
